You can take whatever you want, but this is the minimum recommended Kit.

Thick Walking Socks (2 pairs each)

Waterproof Jacket (not lightweight type )

Waterproof Overtrousers

Hat (for sun & cold )

Warm Trousers (Not jeans or shell suit )

Warm shirts / Jumpers

Gloves

Change of clothing

 

Equipment

Silva type compass (At least 2 per team)

First aid kit (At least one per team)

Whistle (At least 2 per team)

Torch (1 each person)

Spare batteries (1 set each person)

Stove and equipment to make a hot drink and meal

Survival bag - 500 gauge polythene (1 each)

Flysheet or 4man Bothy Bag (1 per team)

Sleeping Bag (1each)

Emergency Rations

Sun Lotion, Midge repelant

Ordnance Survey Landranger 1: 50,000 maps or OS 1:25000 Explorer Maps - Details of these are given on entry confirmation sheet (2 sets per team)

Pen, Paper

Money for payphone etc. (Mobiles don’t always have complete coverage)

Water Sterilisation tablets

All your team's kit WILL be checked before leaving, and random spot checks for compulsary items will be made.
